Come out and see Big Johnson Blues Band, live at The Saratoga City Tavern!

 

Big Johnson Blues Band broke into the capitol region blues scene in January 2001. Having received local radio, television play and an award from WZMR 104.9 as “Best New Blues Band 2001” the band’s influence on the local scene drew the attention of local blues publications and netted an invitation to the NE Blues Colossal Contenders competition and on to the 2003 Fleet Blues Festival.

 

In 2004 the band’s line up changed leaving 3 original members and including two new talents, lead singer John McNamara and Robert Krull on keyboards. In 2013 the band introduced John Harris on drums and shortly thereafter Robert Krull moved to Florida to windsurf. Big Johnson is now a five piece band consisting of harmonicist Paul Cooke, guitarist Greg Drake, drummer John Harris, singer John McNamara and bassis Jim Robinson.

 

Cited as the “Best Kept Secret In The Capital District” by Metroland i(March 2013), Big Johnson Blues Band continues to pound out a fistful of blues at every performance.
